Aft Side Panel Skins were measured, marked, drilled and cut the Rudder and Ruddervator control holes in left and right Aft Side Panel Skins as well as the notches at the bottom corner of each Skin. The location of the Rudder Cable hole is in different locations on each Skin. I use a 7/8 hole saw and drill press for the larger holes and a tapered bit and air drill for the smaller holes. A nibbler tool was used to cut out the area connecting the two holes..
Later in the build I discovered these openings had to be opened further to accommodate the Ruddervator Control Rods and Rudder Cables so that they did not touch the side panels. I guess that means the measurements on the plans were not correct. Or maybe my fabrication of the Mixer Assembly was a little off from the plan measurements. Either way you have to make it fit and work without conflict. Luckily Fairings will cover up the wider holes.
