Trimmed upper and lower skins to clear counterweight adj. bearings to specs. What a pain in the ass getting those bolts through the hinge brackets and through the bearings. I only took enough lead off the weight to get them to fit after reading of some other builders having to add weight later on. My elevator is still a little heavy, tail low that is , probably due to the electric trim servo and trim tab assembly. Good thing I didn't follow the directions. I'm hoping the right elevator will have enough weight to equal out the left once they are combined. Van's tech. support said the combined weight should balance out and not the individual elevator weights and that the weight is not that critical.
