Spent most of the day studying the plans for Vorizontal Stabilizer construction, feeling confident to start work on my kit. I entered the workshop at 7pm with the goal of completing just a few steps of drilling, just to get a feel for working in my shop. I picke all of the parts from inventory needed, reviewed the plans and began drilling. It ended in what in the moment seemed a disaster. I mangled a hole drilled through the forward VS and a doubler by not thinking through what I was doing in the moment. In retrospect, I believe I could have repaired the mistake or drilled the hole larger but I decided to reorder the $25 in parts. I can't do this every time I make a mistake or I'll find myself having built the aircraft twice, but it's important for my confidence here at first to do it right. I spent a whole night sulking and licking my wounds.
First holes of the project drilled!
Fun turns to tradgedy. The AN bolt translates in the hole.
