Buying a Homebuilt Kit
After a major change in family circumstance I have decided I need to be creative and get going on a project. I have just finished an MBA degree and can think of nothing better than building an aircraft since most guys dream about sailing around the world but mine is a slightly different quest.” Fly around the world.” I have seen most of the world from 350000’. Now its time to see mother earth from a lower level. I also dream of the day I will have my girls back in my life and give them the gift of wings or maybe even my grand children.
I started flying micro lights in 2005 to get back into light aviation but, it’s not what rocks my earth totally. I meet Gab whom owns the only aviation park in South Africa. Very hospitable people on the planet, Gabi let me fly his Piper Vagabond, RV6 and Cessna 170. My favorite as is his, the Vagabond. I am a slow learner but feel privileged to be back in light aviation. It has given me a focus and a goal to work towards. I need that.

Going Shopping
After a 10hr delay using an Emirates rebate ticket I finally got to JFK only to miss my connection to Seattle.
The next morning at $100 cab fare, same as the return fare from SEA with Jet Blue I caught an AA flight from Newark to Chicago and then on to SEA. The delays caused me to lose my hotel booking, what a waste....yech yech.
My first stop was to go to Glasair and, was disappointed at the lack of understanding from where I had just traveled from. It takes 18hrs of flying to get there plus an hour on the road to get to Arlington. I was not offered drinks or refreshments of any sort. Not like I was going to buy a pair of shoes.
Fortunately there product was what I envisioned to fly around the world with as a Cessna 180 was old and expensive in comparison.
Went to Vans and was impressed by the factory and hospitality. Will still build one as my next project…lets see how this one goes first. Looked around SEA, whet up the space needle and wished I could have shared it with some
