Brief Description: Continue work on wing folding area
Continue work on wing folding area: Finished riveting all 4 ribs to backer ribs. Also riveted the paddle arms and the 4 spars to the angle brackets. Drilled one angle bracket and spar to a bearing block, have 3 more to do.
Received the two replacement paddle bearings from McMaster - Carr. Pounded out the old bearings with the broken flanges. Tried heating the block to free up the bearings but that did not work. Then just used a small punch to punch out the bearing dust cover and then the bearing balls and the collar. I then was able to drop a small socket into the hole and easily pound out one of the bearing. I then used the socket again from the other side to pound out the bearing I had removed the guts from.I cleaned up the block bore with a small grinder and emery cloth and then pressed the new bearings into place using an arbor press.
