Brief Description:  Worked on wing folding area

Worked on wing folding area: located all parts including rib spacers etc and updrilled and finished edges of all. Match drilled the backer ribs to the thin flanged ribs at the wing folding joint. Counter sunk all 4 backer ribs for 6-32 screws that hold the paddle bearing blocks. Also CS the backer ribs for CCC riveting.

Heard from Sonex today regarding the empennage control surface rib confusion. Apparently the 03 and 04 ribs are switched around on the OneX plans compared to the WaieX plans which also uses the same ribs. As long as the kit includes 2 of each style rib, the other 3 ribs can be of either type since they are used in the center of the control surface. So, as long as the kit included 3 of one type and 4 of the other everything would be ok, doesn't matter if the 3 ribs are 03 or 04 types. Becaue my kit only included 3 ribs (the other 4 back ordered), when they filled the back order I got 4 more of the type I already had. Anyway, Sonex is going to probably make corrections to the OneX drawings so they reference the same part numbered ribs as the Waiex. Hopefully I'll recieve the correct 4 BO'ed ribs in a couple days and I can finish the empennage.

Note: I broke the flange on two of the paddle block bearings when installing them using the bolt washer nut process. The 2 bearings got cocked when installing them and I had to use excessive force getting them to seat flat and that force broke pieces off of the flanges on the two bearings. I installed the other 3 sets with no problems, one set I installed with the bolt, washer, nut process but the other two sets I used the arbor press I had bought to bend the empennage spar reinforcements. I also used a very small amount of fuel lube in the bearing block which seemed to help the bearings slide in. The 2 bearings with the broken flanges seemed to be ok but I decided to replace them. The packing sheet from Sonex provided a McMaster part number for the bearings so I ordered 2 new ones at $6.00 each from McMater - Carr. I plan to heat the bearing block when
