Brief Description:  Riveted Flaps, started on Ailerons

Riveted Flaps, started on Ailerons: Riveted the flaps in my press, they came out well, no warping.

Started working on Ailerons; have marked both for cutting to length and cutouts for the counterweight arms and actuator. Am making drilling guides for the skin to rib holes and am having a friend mill the lead counterweights to size.

You may notice the extra 2 rivets in the top of each flap rib. I miss-read the drawings and started the rivets 1 1/2" from the leading edge of the flap which is about 3/8" of an inch too far back (I don't have the plans with me now and can't remember the exact distance specified). Anyway, the last hole was on the edge of the rib top flange so I trimmed the top flange about 1/8" so I could set a dummy rivet in that skin hole and then added 2 additional rivets, one near the end of the rib flange and another near the front to make up for the missing rivet on the tail of the rib and the longer gap in the fleading edge to the first rivet.
