Brief Description: CHT, EGT, and Oil Pressure senders
Today I installed the EGT, CHT, and Oil Pressure senders. To begin, Garmin sent me the wrong CHT probes. I ordered Bayonet style but they sent screw in. HOWEVER, they screwed in just fine, so with a little Corrosion X on the threads I decided to avoid the hassle of returning them. I then began planning out how to route them and keep it all clean. Next was an eye opening lesson on drilling SS. The first 2 pipes took me 30 minutes to drill a 1/8" hole, going back and forth between a unibit and standard bit. This was miserable. I then grabbed my #30 Cobalt drill bit and WOW. It was like drilling through aluminum. NEVER again will I use standard bits on SS. My mood perked up a bit after this discovery. After that I assembled the Oil Pressure line fittings and installed it to the sump and sender. I routed the sender to the engine mount and found a good way to secure it by laying down a layer of my sticky backed foam on the mount and zip tying the sender to it in 2 places. Eventually the wires will be ran through an Adel clamp as well, giving this method a very very low chance of detaching from the mount.
