Brief Description:  Matco Bearings are "special"

So I have to say I'm not a fan of the way Matco explains their wheel bearing torque procedure. The use tapered bearings and require the wheels to have some "tension" on them at all times. Well I had WAY too much tension on them which caused the nose wheel to come down right when the mains touched on my last landing. Not cool. I was slinging grease from the seal and thought I needed them tighter but that's not true. In a perfect world, an assembly like this should have a very simple way to get it right, but it's more "feel" than that, and It may inspire a change to grove wheels one of these days.
On a good note, I can't justify the expense of aircraft jacks, but I found the PERFECT substitute that I think is even better. It's a Transmission jack for $200! It has a large flat plate on top that can be locked into any angle (HUGE PLUS) and pumps up really fast. And at 1200lbs of lift, I think every canardian should own at least 1 :) Thanks China! LOL.
