First off, today was rough. 4 hours in clear blue skies with REALLY ROUGH AIR. Now I could climb to 5500 and it smoothed out but at the expense of a 19 degree cockpit temp. Well, for the first 2 hours I froze my face off. The canopy frame warps up in the front due to the plexiglass shrinking in the cold and that lets a blast of 19 degree air in right at my face. Their are a couple ways to fix this but with summer coming, it will wait. The BEST news is that last night at Walmart I was looking for different funnels and found a set of 3 rubber funnels. PERFECT! These will squish down to fit under the thigh support but are large enough to avoid a spill. I tried it out at 130kts indicated and the suction was great. SUCCESS! Now I will need to make a really good looking, low drag exit. Funny, when I landed I noticed a block of frozen pee at the exit. LOL. glad it didn't freeze over!! So now I am down to my final 2 hours of phase 1. I can't wait to be free from this phase 1 prison time :D
