Long day today. I started to seal the right fuel tank, Overall it went well, thanks to the sealant air gun I bought for it. It was clearly much cleaner than using wood stick to spread along the ribs. The proseal is so sticky product that I understand why it can become messy. I rivited the stiffining angle today as I applied proseal last night. Today after the riveting was completed, I proseal the underside of the ribs. I am planning to rivet them tomorrow and then proseal the topside. and cleco them. Monday evening I will finish the riveting. I wont be able to put the baffle before the inspection will be done by the MD-RA inspector. Next weekend, I plan to do the same with the left tank.
I used masking tape when I did the stiffener angle, but with the sealant gun, it is not useful. For the rib, I did not use any and it was not messy as I feared.
I applied a bead of proseal on the skin then on the angle or the ribs. When I cleco them, the proseal squeezed out form both side, so I think it covers very well the imperfections.
