Back at it finally. Not been feeling well for weeks now and think I picked up a virus so work on the RV8 ground to a halt. Started to feel better in the last few days so nipped into the garage to start building again.
Didn't document cumulatively several hours of straightening the rudder trailing edge as per the plans with the improvised trailing edge squeezer. Eventually got it right by going slowly slowly little by little. Anyway the rudder is secured up on the shelves with the vertical stabiliser.
Moved back onto the right elevator (I had completed the skin and stiffeners some time ago) but there were a couple of rivets that require oops rivets that I have to drill out and reset in the coming weeks. Concentrated instead in realigning myself with where I left off in the plans and drilled to size all the holes plus through the elevator horn. Countersunk the base of E702 so that the horn can fit flush and also dimpled E713 and countersunk E714 to match.
Managed to find some nylon washers to finally mount the scotchbrite wheel on the bench grinder so hopefully less sanding in the future (just in time for the left elevator stiffeners!).
