After a prolonged and generally unsuccessful battle with the nutplates and amongst other things trying to put them back into round, greasing them and using stainless steel screws to open them up a little, the only thing that would work is a imperial tap of the same size applied carefully to leave some tension in them.
With that piece settled I went back to the trim servo hatch and set the nutplates and riveted the panel to the skin. Sadly a couple of duff rivets that I will have to drill out tomorrow but moving forward again.
Still not heard from Vans on when the fuselage will be ready to ship but should be soon.
