Brief Description:  skeletons of flight controls

Spent several hours drilling out a lower rib in the rudder skin to try and smooth out a ding I put in the skin with the rivet gun. Once this was done, I had the pressure up too high on the rivet gun and beat the shop heads too flat on a few of them. Had to drill those out. This widened the holes on the stiffener too much for a 3/32 rivet, so I fabricated a reinforcement peice out of .32 and placed it on top of the stiffener, using a slightly longer rivet. Fixed beautifully.

Drilled out one small stiffener in the left elevator skin to smooth out a smaller ding. No problems, and an easy fix.

Built a bending brake out of 2x6 and spare door hinges. Made bends on flight control skins. Was nervous about it, but it turned out to nothing more than pressing on the board with my body weight

Built up the rudder and elevators and match/finish drilled the skins and skeleton. Ended up countersinking too far on the trim spar and might need to buy another one from the factory. Not sure how it happened, as I was using a microstop, but I'll look into tomorrow morning. Either way, feeling encouraged about how things are falling into place on the tail.
