Brief Description: RH Elevator
|
|
The RH elevator is constructed first, due to its simplicity when compared to the LH Elevator.
The operation starts by cutting and preparing all the stiffeners, cleco them to the elevator skins, matchdrill, remove them again, debur, dimple and cover them with primer.
The skin is also deburred, dimpled and primed.
I then backriveted all the stiffeners to the skin, squeeze the trailing egde to get a good looking finish and continued with the spar and outboard ribs.
Construction of the counterbalance assembly was the next step, and then riveting the spar, ribs and elevator horn into place.
The last step was to rivet the spar assembly into place and form the leading edges.
