The rudder construction is more labour intensive than the vertical stabilizer.
Once the usual sequence is completed, the stiffeners are back-riveted to the skins and then the trailing edge needs to be shaped into the correct angle, to avoid any buldging of the skin.
Upon installing the rudder spar, I squirted a dab of sicaflex at the inside of the trailing edge, where every set of stiffeners overlap, to avoid any cracking in future due to vibration. This is a requirement by the construction manual.
Rolling the leading edges of the rudder was a challenge, due to the thickness of the sheeting. Eventually it came out beautifully.
After the rudder was completed, I installed it onto the vertical stabilizer and adjusted the rudder-to-stabilizer gaps, to ensure free movement without any binding.
