Brief Description:  Fuselage bottom rudder hinge

Used a 'nibbler' to trim approx. 2mm off of aft edge of shim to keep clear of the bend in the upper half of the bottom rudder hinge. Bolted lower half to upper with bushing in place to ensure proper alignment. Aligned center of lower hinge plate with aircraft centerline. Drilled aft-center hole first and clecoed to fix alignment. Drilled the other 4 holes in the aft section. Discrepancy between the plan drawings and plan discription on how many rivets should secure the front half of the bottom rudder hinge bracket. Drawing show 4, photo manual show 5, and plan is labeled for 6. I put in 6. Second discrepancy is the photo manual shows 2 bolts, 2 A5 rivets and the tie down ring. Words can for 4 bolts. I went with 4 bolts and the tie down ring. Opened holes to A5, 3/16" and 5/16".

Fuselage floor ready to dis-assemble for deburring.
