Brief Description:  Biplane Forum Builders Manual

OK, this is the third time I've tried to write the same thing... and I just figured out why. This software program is limited to three photos per post and there is a limited amount of text per post. Ugh. That means I've got to go back and revise several of my previous posts which I have just discovered often drop off in mid-sentence. I hadn't been aware of that so if you've already seen that, sorry. Anyway, to the point! (but I can't write too much or I'll run into the same problem)

The Biplane Forum (www.BiplaneForum.com) is a great site where builders of biplanes can interact, share information, and get help. Many members have contributed, and a couple have collated and edited, a Builders Manual. If you join the BF for $40, you have the ability to download all chapters of the Builder's Manual. I've done so, printed them out, put them in a binder, and have it next to my table on a conductor's stand. There are step by step directions on building a Steen Skybolt from scratch. In fact, if you call Steen for help (since the 'Bolt does not come with a builders manual) they will refer you to the BF and tell you to get the manual. That's how good it is. So, if I don't cover it here, it's because it's well covered in the manual. For example, there's a thorough write-up discussing the various glues you can use to assemble your wings, drawings and a materials list for a great table to build the wings, and drawings for excellent jigs to hold the wing in alignment during assembly. It's the best $40 you will spend on the build.
