Peeled off the blue protective coat off the firewall, that has been in place for over 8 years, so it was very stubborn. While I was doing that, I charged the batteries for my new cordless drill, my first new tool purchase for this build. Barry stopped in to check out the firewall and return my pneumatic rivet squeezer and to chat a little about the project and what's been up with the build of his RV9 which has been in progress for the last four or five years. Went back to cleaning up the engine side of the firewall with MEK, ahhh how I've missed that smell in the shop. Then started in on the polishing, first with the random orbital and some rough cut polish. Then I cleaned that off, and started in with the black bar goo and the new drill. Made multiple passes until I drained both batteries twice. Had black powder stuff all over. Nice to make a mess again.
