I have decided to put the Andair fuel selector on the top of the tunnel. I feel that this position is a better location and is easer to see and operate than the original location. The selector also has a locking device to stop it been accidentally turned off.
The position of the selector is first made and fitted as per Andair instructions.
To fit the Andair fuel selector valve. It is first located into position and the drilling of the hole for the selector valve is created in a 3mm ply wood.
3 ply’s of Bid are laid up un either side of the wood with 2 ply’s of reinforcing ply’s at each end lapping 2” onto the ply wood. The lay-ups are then put into position over parcel tape to get the correct fitting, and left to cure.
After cure the valve is fitted along with the extension to the selector, as per Andair instructions. A coupler joint is used to turn the valve so the outlet is pointing Aft and the correct Port side becomes the main tank and the STBD to the STBD side.
The platform is held in place with AN525-10R12 Bolts with a AN970-3 Washer on either side, then clamped up with a MS21042-3 Nuts
