Brief Description:  H.O. Ingram

While working at Beechcraft, he was approached by businessman from St. Paul, Minnesota that had just moved his family business to Nashville, Tennessee. His name was O. H. Ingram, founder of Ingram Products Company, which later became Ingram Oil and Ingram Barge Company.

As I understand, Mr. Ingram wanted to purchase an airplane so he could travel back and forth from Nashville to St. Paul. The plane Mr. Ingram was interested in was the "learjet" of that time period the Beech 18. After meeting with Beechcraft salesmen they took him on a tour of the factory. While touring the final assembly line, H.O. and Granddaddy met. Mr. Ingram hired granddaddy on the spot to follow the his newly purchased Beech 18 from start to finish and move his family to Nashville and become H.O. Ingram's corporate pilot.

In the fall of 1948, the VanDresser's pick-up their Mid-West coat tails and moved to Nashville.
