Brief Description:  Will It Fit?

Shortly after getting inspired from my first RV-7A flight, I started looking at my basement as my possible airplane shop. I asked myself, "will it fit" and can I get it out after I build it. You see my basement has only one 32" door, but has three set of windows on the back wall. Two of which are 32 inches wide, but one double window is 97 inches wide.

I have been drawing on MicroStation, a CAD program for the past 20 years so I thought I would measure and draw my basement to help lay out it out. Below are the results, although I have lots of room, when I am ready to take the fuselage out I will need to remove the double windows and take it out that way. I do not think it will be a big deal getting it out. After all, the basement is nice and dry, warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

I figure I can mate the tail section and wing while it is still in the basement and then move the fuselage up to my two car garage to work on the firewall forward before taking it to the airport.
