After triming some excess materail from inside the gear leg tube of the motor mount, I was finally able to get the titanium rods installed full length to mark the hole locations. All I did was put some cutting oil on the bit and inside the bolt hole and start to drill. Just enough to take it to the drill press. This made it much easier and then the press bit did not want to "walk' on the titanium.
I used plenty of cutting oil and went with a 1/4' bit first. If you use plently of oil and go slow with firm pressure, you shouldn't need to start with a pilot hole.
