Brief Description: Assembling Control Sticks and Mixer
Tonight I pressed in the bushings for the control assembly and the Waiex mixer pivot assembly. After reading some other builder posts, I relaized that I was going to need to remove the powder coating from a few parts.
I purchased a small Ronson butane torch and heated up the coating until it bubbled and then easily scraped it off with a wire brush. The mixer shaft and the control horns require this.
However, I still can't get the control horns inserted into the control assembly with a "snug but freely rotating fit"...per the plans. The plans say to line ream the two bushings on each side of the control assyembly to achieve this fit. I've not seen where other builders have had to do this, so I'll ask around on the forums to see what the best method it.
