Brief Description: Fabrictaed 2nd Rudder Pedal Block and Fitted Pedal
I fabricated the second rudder pedal block assembly tonight. I did a test fit with the pedal assemblies on the bench and it was apparent that the holes needed to be reamed slightly. I used a 1" hole saw to cut the holes, but a little more phenolic material needed to be removed. I used my angle grinder and rotary file to remove the excess. You will also have to grind a bit of material from the edge of the inboard hole closest to the pedal weldment. The weld bead interferes with the edge of the phenolic hole. This is called out in the plans.
I installed them in the fueslage, but I'll have to remove and ream the holes slightly. Per the plans the pedals are supposed to have a nice slip fit. It won't take much to get them right tomorrow night.
