Brief Description:  Reassembled and Began Riveting Turtle Deck

Tonight I started with the last bit of priming. I had to tape off and prime the outside contact surface of the lower turtle deck skin. This is the section that sandwiches in between the longerons and fuselage side skins.

With the help of my wife, we refitted the turtle deck skin assembly to the aft fuselage. I clecoed everything together and I began riveting the #5 former and spline attach clips. In the second picture you will see that I installed the vertical row of rivets, through the former and into the spline clip, with the head facing aft. The plans call for the head to face forward, but there was no possible way that I was getting either of my rivet pullers inside that tight space. The head orientation won't make a difference in this case.

I also riveted the #1 LH & RH formers, attach plates, and upper splice. I'm riveting the parts together just as the plans sequence calls out for fitting and pilot drilling (#5, 1, 4, 3, 2).
