Brief Description: Finished Deburring & Prepped for Prime
After taking all the clecos out, I started deburring the glut of holes on the RT aft fuselage structure. There were a couple of places where I had to trim some excess material that interfered with the structure, such as: the #1 zee channel lower flange rubbing the lower longeron. I originally cut it correctly, but there was about 1/16" interference on the forward edge. Also the zee channel pulley bracket rubbed on the inside of the fuselage skin. Just a little grinding with the scotchbrite wheel took care of this area.
After deburring, I taped off the areas on the skin I did not want to prime and shot a light coat of self-etching primer. This may be an exercise in futility on the 6061 T-6 aluminum, but my conscience feels better knowing that all the mating surfaces (that I will not be able to access later on) will be protected.
I'll finish priming the remainder of the parts and hopefully begin assembly tomorrow.
