Brief Description:  Spraying final color

Today we sprayed the final color on the fuselage. Polytone 143 yellow is the color we used.

We sprayed one coat in the morning and one coat in the late afternoon, 1/2 a gallon 143 yellow was needed to get a nice cover. Paintbooth temperature was 70F with 55% relative humidity.

Total amount of paint used on the fuselage:

1 gallon Polybrush(including first brushed on coat)
1 gallon Polyspray
1/2 gallon white 105
1/2 gallon 143 yellow
1 gallon reducer 65-75

The HVLP Axis spraying system saves a good amount of paint since there is less overspray. As one can see on the pictures there is still a lot of spraying dust. I did make a ventilator to suck the dust out of the paintbooth but as a result of this the temperature drops very fast and this is not what you want to happen when you are spraying.

Now it is about time to start installing the gear, control sytem, seats, panels etc. There is still lots of building before the first takeoff.
