Brief Description:  Side rail, side skin, canopy deck, gussets

Today I riveted until my arms told me I could rivet no more.

To start I riveted the side rail on the right side of the fuselage. Next I clamped the forward canopy deck pieces to the main longerons and drillled them. They were removed, deburred and dimpled, the longerons deburred and countersunk then the decks were clecoed back in place. I riveted the left canopy deck, then riveted the side skin to the main longeron across the opening section, between the forward top skin and the aft top skin, I also riveted the aft side skin at the tail area behin where the rear top skin will attach.

In retrospect it would have been better to set these side skin rivets before riveting the aft deck and side rails but the instruction manual at this point becomes pretty sketchy.

With my arms to tired to rivet I marked and drilled the top forward firewall gussets, then clamped them to the main longerons and drilled them to the longerons. They were removed and deburred and the longerons also deburred and clecoed in place. The left gusset was riveted in place before I called it a day.
