An abbreviated session today because of morning appointments and my hangar neighbor Johnny was there installing the heat pump for my hangar. None too soon as the arctic blast hit our area today!!
I did get a bot of work done. First I riveted the center floor stiffeners to the firewall brackets and to the main bulkhead brackets. Then I riveted the arm rest aft flanges to the seat back bulkheads.
I leveled the fuselage on its stands and then checked the tail for twist. I found about one-tenth of one degree of twist that I worked out as I clamped the aft deck to the main longerons. The aft deck makes the fuselage torsionally rigid so it is important that it be in proper alignment before drilling for rivets. The deck was clamped into place and some of the rivet holes were drilled. The spacers between the aft deck and the horizontal angles between the last two bulkheads were fabricated and slipped into place for drilling.
Once the HVAC guys were gone I put the hangar back in place as I had moved a number of things so they could access the area. I am so pleased to have heat and this little Mitsubishi mini-split throws off a lot of it!
