Brief Description: Aft fuselage rivet, join to center section
In the morning I riveted all of the aft fuselage that I could by myself, leaving only the bottom skin rivets to be done when Skip arrived. We quickly completed the riveting of the aft fuselage when he arrived after lunch.
Next we got out the main longerons and cut the ends to length and trimmed the aft end as required. These were then located on the aft fuselage and the location of the notch for the horizontal stabilizer bars were marked. These notches were then cut and smoothed. The longerons were then inserted in the aft fuselage and the side skins cleoed to hold them in place.
The aft fuselage with longerons in place was then rotated upside down on the sawhorses.
The center fuselage section was then lifted and matched to the aft fuselage and the line of rivet holes on the bottom skins were clecoed together.
This thing is starting to look like an airplane!!!!
