Work continued on the aft fuselage with drilling the J-Channel longerons. Unfortunately this included drilling onto one of my fingers as I was holding the channel behind the skin. Dumb! Though it bled impressively, a band-aid kept the wound in check until I got home.
I removed the tailcone skin and drilled the side skins to the J-Channel without the tailcone, hoping this woulod make it easier to fit the tailcone by using clecos. I really struggled with getting this part to fit and finally returned to the plans and discovered a fairly obscure drawing that indicated I did not heve the skins in the proper sequence, which was adding to my difficulties. I removed all celcos from the tail section and then re-clecoed with the tailcone skin underneath the side and bottom skins. Still not ready for drilling but I seem to ce closing in on it now.
I also marked and cut the opening for the tailwheel mount in the tailcone skin.
