Brief Description:  Tach cover, Red Cube, baffles

After being away for a few weeks it was good to get back to the hangar, though the day was not as productive as hoped.

On the way to the hangar I stopped and picked up my Sam James cowling at the truck terminal, which turned out to be very close to the airport. It looks to be very well made.

The tach drive cover was installed and safety wired. As I will not use a mechanical tachometer the outlet had to be sealed.

The new fuel line was attached to the Red Cube transducer and the line installed between the fuel injection servo and the F/I distribution spider. This arrangement should work well.

I removed the prop governor from the rear of the engine and attempted to install the control cable bracket I ordered from Van's. It appears that because the PCU 5000X governor is more compact than the other governors the bracket is going to require some modification. This will require additional investigation so I put this aside before I got too frustrated.

I unpacked the baffle kit I ordered from Van's, having given up on fabricating my own. It appears that these can be modified to work with the Sam James plenum, but will require some trimming.

I did get the Decathlon put back together after having the new starter installation signed off and took it out for some excercise. It was good to get back in the air again!!

The propller was delivered to the house this evening. Exciting!!
