Fabricated a shelf mount for the GPS receiver. This will be in the engine compartment, right below the top cowl and behind the engine mount. Platenuts were attached for the mounting of the device, and the shelf was attached to the engine mount using an adel clamp.
The stainless steel pins for the lower cowl mount hinges were cut to length, ends ground to round them and one end bent.
In working with the hinges to attach the top and bottom cowl halves together I discovered that I used the hinge pieces designated for the cowl on the landing gear leg fairings. This means it is slightly oversize for the application but I find no reason to remove and replace them. I ordered new hinges for the cowl halves in the proper sizes per James Aircraft instructions.
