Brief Description:  Electric Ignition controller mount

Today I selected a location for the electronic ignition controller. I decided to put it between then sub panel and then firewall, and between the left and center foreward fuselage ribs.

I fabricated mounting brackets by cutting 3/4" angle to lenngth, notching the ends so I could present a flat monting surface on the lower side, drilling these to the ribs and to the controller, drilling for platenuts, deburring holes and edges, countersinking for platenut rivets, alodine, and attach platenuts. With the controller bolted to the brackets they were riveted to the angled bottom of the foreward fuselage ribs,

I am very pleased with this location as it provides easy access if needed, is well out of the way and also does a nice job of containng the excess wiring.

The next step was to start wiring the E/I harness. The cloil power wire was connected, timing wire fittings attached. I stopped work on the harness when I discovered it did not include the lead to use with a conventional mag switch. A call is in to the manufacturer.

The cylinder head temperature probes were installed.
