Brief Description: Wing root fairings, wing walk material, cowl inlet
Today I installed the wing root fairings to each side.
Next I applied the wing walk material to each wing.
I prepped the cowl for initial epoxying of the cooling air inlets by sanding the inside surface and then using modelling clay to protect the junction pints between upper and lower cowl. Numerous coats of wax were applied to the inlet rings so the epoxy would not stick to them.
The inlet rings were taped in place and a slurry of epoxy and cotton flox was used to establish the initial set for the rings.
I also cut tabs from the leftover portion of the oil door material that will form a toggle tab between the upper cowl and the fuselage between the upper and horizontal hinges. This should close off an open slot.
