Brief Description:  Baffles, prop spacer, lower cowl

I match drilled the angle stiffener to the right inlet ramp. Once I attached this to the engine it became apparent that something just wasn't right, beyond the holes not matching up right. I did discover that the baffle kit had plans for the 320 engine versus the 360 that I am using, but didn't think much of it previously. The box has a 360 kit pack list and the instructions had a 320 pack list, so I went through and compared the 2 and compare that to what I was shipped. I then called Vans. It turns out they had included the wrong documet pack and one wrong component with this kit, and have shipped a replacement. Mystery solved.

Next I removed each prop spacer bolt, one at a time to apply Locktite and then retorque. This was done sequencially for each of the 6 bolts.

I then began work on fitting the lower cowl. A template was cut for the gear leg exits and this pattern was transferred to the cowl corner and the cowl cut. I also made up a carboard template to simulate the back of the spirrner.

The horizontal centerline was drawn on the lower cowl front and established using a sanding block. The colw was fitted to the fuselage. This has taken several iterations to adjust the gear leg cut outs, adjust the exhaust/muffler pipes to provide clearance, adjust clamps, and so on.
