Brief Description:  Red cube, exhaust, EGT probes

The morning went badly.

First I attached the fuel lines I had ordered to the Red Cube fuel flow sensor and then went to install it on the engine between the fuel injection servo and the distribution spider. The line was too long and would not fit. So I yelled at myself about not measuring/ordering correctly, then measured the lines and compared that to what I had ordered. It turns out the fabricator made one of the two 3/4" longer than I specified, and that was the problem. I called them and a replacement line will be delivered tomorrow.

Next I began work on installing the EGT probes on the exhaust and then permanently installing the exhaust. I thought I had been careful and smart about where to locate the probes but failed to realize that the cylinder to exhaust opening relationship is different on each side of the motor, and the location I selected was fine for the left side but not the right. And I decided to drill the right side tubes first. Once mounted on the engine it was obvious that this location put the probes in direct conflict with the lower spark plugs. I beat myself up pretty thoroughly for this bit of carelessness.

The good news was that I took the part to a local race shop and they weled the holes closes and buffed it out to where you couldn'e even tell there had been a hole. So 20 minutes and $35 later all was well.

I returned and drilled new holes for the probes, mounted the probes and then mounted the exhaust pipes and tailpipes.
