Today I applied Smooth Prime filler/primer to the fiberglass tips. This intitial coat was squeegeed on, per Van's recommendation. Once dry it was sanded down in preparation for the sprayed coats. This is done to fill the pinholes but sure felt like a futile effort. I just hope they turn out well, because the sanding was a real chore.
