Brief Description:  Aileron trim, rivet top skins

In the mroning I continued work on the aileron trim. The mounting plate was drilled, deburred and dimpled and the nutplates riveted to it. The bearing block was drilled to the mounting plate. The actuator arm shaft was cut to length, filed smooth and a hole drilled for the securing cotter pin. The actuator arm was assembled to the bearing block and the bearing block was attached with bolts to the mounting plate.

The center of travel was determined on the servo and the servo was attached to the actuator arm using links. Mounting plate was screwed to floor ribs and the servo motor clamped to the ribs for drilling.

In the afternoon helper Skip arrived and we riveted both aft top fuselage skins. Skip was on the outside with the backrivet bucking bar and I slithered around inside the tailcone with the rivet gun using backrivet sets. It was a lot of rivets but I was pleased to get it completed in the one session.
