Brief Description: Rivet top skins, aileron brackets
I spent my first day of retirement at the hangar!! How great was that. And many more to come...
I finished riveting the top skins to the right wing skeleton. Most rivets were set using the pnuematic squeezer. The front edge of the skin inboard of the leading edge was done by back riveting using a vise clamp to hold the bucking bar in place. And one row of rivets on the inboard bottom spar had to be set using the gun and rivet set because a reinforcement plate restricted access to the back side.
After finishing with the sking I assembled the aileron brackets by drilling, deburring and riveting the component parts together.
Another good bit of news is that there is now a building permit on site for the new hangars!! So hopefully I will be in my new hangar before I run out of room.
