Brief Description: Tour Van's and pick up tail kit
Made the mistake of going to Van's for a tour with my friend Fred Field-Eaton. A very impressive operation with the punch presses making parts one after another. I completed an RV-4 about 12 years ago and those machines were doing in minutes what it took me days to complete. Ran into Van and had a nice visit with him. 33 years ago he gave me flying lessons in a C-120 at Skyport. At the time he would fly from his 600 foot strip about a mile away to Skyport. I would stand there and watch the entire RV airforce land. What a neet airplane. When the tour was over I was told if we would go to lunch and return in an hour they would have a tail kit ready. With a sales pitch like that, how could I say no. Lunch was good and the kit was ready. Let the fun begin.
