Brief Description:  It runs!

The big day finally arrived, after a forecast of thunderstorms and high winds, we finally decided to pull it out and make it run. We found a few previously missed things to tidy up, and ran the pumps each to hear them fill up and run fuel by the pressure regulator. To be sure we bled the fuel rail line, had fuel there too. Tried a start in the garage, not wanting to actually run, but to prove fuel and sparks were present. They were, so out we went, but not until I managed to get my wrist watch shorted out between the hot battery post and the battery case. By the time I got the red hot band off, I was left with some nice red burn marks on my wrist, still too sore to put my watch back on! t
The engine has set for far too long without running. I suspected some stuck injectors, and maybe some fittings we forgot to tighten on the oil or fuel system. Turned out not even a drop of oil or fuel dripped anywhere! I found that starting was balky at anywhere except pulling the throttle all the way back and also compressing lthe over shut spring. Started quite easily there.
All in all we are proud to get to this stage, it has been a long road with many changes and challenges. We decided to go pig out at Golden Corral for dinner, to celebrate a job well done.
