Brief Description:  Speed with Economy

"Many will identify the title of this post with the Kent Paser book of the same name, one of my favorites.
Most think all my mods and wishes are all for going faster, but a bigger engine eating more fuel would do that, takes no smarts to do it that way.
Most any aircraft is a compromise of drag and cost, leaving lots of little things one can do to improve speed - AND economy. It is all pretty much the same thing to me. The slicker I can make the plane go thru the air, the less fuel I will use to make it fly at the same speed.
This is a truly international mod, The main landing gear fairing is actually from an RV, RV8 as I recall. Shortened about 17 inches, and combined with upper and lower MLG fairings from South Africa, then meshed with the Vans wheel pants, the end result is a considerable decrease in drag. Photo nr 2 and 3 are of an RV12 that has the same treatment.."
