Brief Description:  This Hurts to Look At

This hurts to look at for me. As I was looking over the tailcone to be sure it was ready to close up - I spotted these two missing rivets! The photo is actually on its side, this is the bottom of the station directly behind the baggage bulkhead. I tried to climb back there and fix it, but the pain was too much, will have to try again later I guess. I don't know how with all the time I and my son spent in that area, we missed it, when it could have been easy to correct. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I have actually found maybe a half dozen rivets missing like this, the product of an often interrupted building schedule, you know, the phone rings, wife calls for supper, etc.
I am going out this morning to try the riveter in photo 2, it gives me nearly two feet in longer reach. Now if only the holes will cooperate.
Added Information: I looked back several years of photos, and found that those rivets WERE INSTALLED! This leaves me with the idea proposed by someone else that when I and my son were back in there doing other things, we actually sheared them off! Anyway, my photo two riveter did the trick, and they are back in there now. Wish I had waited until I removed that darned fuselage brace, would have made it so much less painful!
