Nothing much happens down here usually, but yesterday it did! The decommissioned USS Forrestal was towed down from the East coast to the Brownsville port to be cut up for scrap. This is the biggest ship ever to enter the channel! We went out on a ship to meet it in the ociean where it had been stalled by dense fog. The most powerfull tugboat in the world towed it down here, as you can see from the people on the South Padre Island Jetty it was a big deal. The President is coming down in a few days to say goodbye to it as it is cut up for scrap.
