"Doing small jobs, I finally got around to installing the ""ADSB In"" box (see photo 1). For those not so well informed, ADSB stands for ""Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast"". Not that knowing that makes anyone any smarter, this is the newer system of air traffic information, that lets me see any aircraft that can be seen by ATC radar! This means that crazy ultralight pilot with no radios, or that cropduster, or even the antique flying around with no electrical system, will be displayed in front of me on the screen as well as all the ""normal"" traffic! It will be required of all aircraft by the year 2020, but some of us have it now! This little box was just recently available and I had to have one for the grand price of ""only"" $995.
Not that I have been working on the project hard enough to work up a sweat, but the new addition of the airplane factory was too much to add on to the central air unit of the house. Besides, I only needed it once in a while, and maybe not so much later after the airplane is done. I added a 15,100 btu window unit, with remote control and thermostatically controlled feature. It is quiet, runs only a small percentage of the time, but a welcome addition on hot days."
