Brief Description:  The Devil Has Been Evicted, sortof

"After staring and glaring at the possessed cowling parts for weeks it seems, I finally bit the bullet and attempted to figure it all out.
I really goofed it up bad, instead of cutting away on it, I should have been trying to figure it all out. The problem turned out to be that the bottom part (which I had decided would be the first part to attach solidly to the plane) apparently was deformed in shipping, storage, or curing from the mold. Even though I had attached it in its relaxed state, it turns out it needed to be pushed forward and THEN attached. I removed the rea attachment of the lower part, and just moved it forward until the two edges lined up. In the third photo, you can see how much it needed to come forward! Fortunately, it is only fiberglass, so I can add back part of what I cut off. I feel I have the problem under control now though. What a difficult situation.
What I should have done, is line up the two horozontal edges BEFORE cutting it to length on the rear. That is very hard to do however, when they are flopping around anc changing position each time you mark a cut."
