Brief Description:  Finished the Canopy Drilling

Well, you have to look at yesterdays photos again, same old stuff. Got all the holes drilled in the canopy with rivets and bolts in most all of them. I was sweating cracking the canopy, I managed to do that on the rear window installation on the Ercoupe. Made no cracks, got it all done.
I knew that was a pricey piece of plastic, just checked and it is $1090 from Vans, and quite a chunk for shipping I would imagine. Had I known it was that expensive, I would have been far more nervous drilling and handling it. My claustrophobic wife Geneda got to do the honors of sitting inside the plane holding a backer board against the side canopy drilling. She survived it ok.
I now have to saw an inch or two off my table legs, the canopy hits the garage door opener when fully open, goes at such an angle it would easily crack the canopy, yes the $1090 one.
Since I am so good at plastic windows, I think I will go ahead and drill and cut the rear one too.
