Brief Description:  Very Frustrating Day

No need for photos, you cannot photograph disgust with a system. I spent HOURS on only one of those magnetic switches, and am no further along then when I started! I ground off the steel little by little, made no real difference. At one point I had what appeared to be a firm closing of the switch, but only if I pushed the pin back in the sleeve a quarter of an inch!. I thought that was a signal, so moved the switch up a quarter of an inch, but then I got no contact at all! A couple more times I thought I might have it, but when tightening up the clamp, the action disappeared.
This is one flaky system for sure, I think I will change to micro switches as soon as the FAA says the silly switches are according to plans.
Tomorrow I am going to drill out the hole between the magnet and switch. I fear this will probably defeat the real purpose, and the switch will still show as closed even if the locking pin is not ingaged. We will see.
